Three Holiday Gift Ideas for Contractors and Weekend Warriors

Christmas is about two weeks away. If you’re still looking for a holiday gift idea for the handyman or handywoman in your life, then check out the products in our holiday flyer. Personally, I would love to receive a new Dewalt miter saw, Senco nailer, or another Stanley tape measure.

Three Holiday Gift Ideas for Pro’s and DIYers

  1. Dewalt 12″ Double-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw

I love this Dewalt miter saw. It’s the second most used power tool I own (right behind the drill). The tool features a powerful motor and the double bevel design enables me to cut all sorts of angles without flipping the lumber. The $399.99 price ($389.99 for club members) is also awesome — over $200 less than the current price at one of those big box stores (rhymes with comb repo). Here are some highlights of the miter saw:

    • Powerful 15 amp, 3,600 rpm motor delivers extended power and durability
    • Adjustable stainless steel miter detent plate with 10 positive stops improves productivity and ensures cutting accuracy
    • Precise miter system and machined base fence support optimize cutting accuracy
    • Tall sliding fences support crown molding up to 6-5/8″ nested and base molding up to 6-1/2″ vertically against the fence while easily sliding out of the way for bevel cuts
    • Single lever action double bevel design easily bevels left and right 0° to 48° with positive stops at 0°, 22.5°, 33.9° and 45° in both directions permitting user to flip the saw and not the material
  2. Senco Fusion F-15 15 Gauge Cordless Angled Finish Nailer

I wish I had a nailer like this one. I have a nailer that attaches to an air compressor. I rarely use it because for the number of finish nails I work with, it’s faster to use a hammer. Setting up the air compressor takes time and I don’t like moving the compressor around. The Senco Fusion F-15 finish nailer is cordless, but still gives you the power of a pneumatic tool. It’s a very nice nailer. Parr Lumber’s price is also excellent — only $329.99 ($319.99 for club members). That’s about $70 to $80 less than the prices at big box stores. Here are some highlights of the Senco Fusion F-15 finish nailer:

    • Patented Reflex-Shot design
    • Robust aluminum drive cylinder
    • Rugged aluminum magazine
    • Eco-friendly 18v Li-ion battery
    • Selectable drive switch
    • Nose mounted LED light
  3. Stanley 25′ Powerlock Tape Measure

As far as I’m concern, you can’t have too many tape measures (one for the garage, one for inside the house, one for the pickup, etc.). A tape measure probably isn’t a great holiday gift, but it would be an excellent stocking stuffer for a DIYer. Parr Lumber is currently selling the Stanley 25′ Powerlock tape measure for $7.49 ($6.99 for club members). Special pricing ends this month. Here are some highlights of the Stanley 25′ Powerlock tape measure:

    • 7′ blade standout
    • Mylar® polyester film extends life of entire blade
    • Chrome high-impact ABS case is job site tough
    • Secure blade lock won’t creep during measurements
    • 16″ and 19.2″ stud center markings simplify framing jobs
    • Corrosion-resistant Tru-zero end hook for accurate measurements
