Tony’s Bio
Tony Cookston is the Manager of the Newberg store, where he oversees all operations and employees at this location.
Tony joined PARR more than 30 years ago as a part-time clean-up crew member at Cascade Wholesale. Since then he has worked his way up through the ranks. He is not only a Manager, but also the host of PARR’s, Weekend Warriors Home Improvement Show.
Tony joined the PARR team as soon as he was old enough to work. Throughout his career here, he graduated high school, attended college, married and had two daughters.
Tony coaches his team in the importance of building relationships with fellow co-workers, customers and vendors. He stresses the importance of exceeding their expectations with legendary service. Tony goes on to state, “I find it results in a positive environment that is mutually beneficial for everyone.”
He references PARR’s commitment to their team and how they always put their people first as one of the things he loves most about working here. When asked about his greatest accomplishment at PARR, Tony said that would be his position as the host of the Weekend Warriors Home Improvement Show. It is worth noting, he is also the voice-over for all of PARR’s advertising.
Outside of work, Tony enjoys camping, playing disc golf, and riding quads in the sand.
Corey’s Bio
Corey is an outside contractor sales rep in West Linn, where he oversees customer sales and projects, leads a team of coordinators and stays apprised of product trends. In addition, he makes up half of PARR’s Weekend Warriors show, where he entertains, educates and inspires customers and DIYers with hands on tutorials, weekend projects and a good natured sense-of-humor.
Corey joined PARR in 2004 as counter sales and has worn many hats over the years. When asked what he likes about PARR, he says, “I love the constant change with working on different customer projects. I also enjoy the camaraderie with my co-workers.”
In thinking about his accomplishments at PARR, Corey says, one of the things he is most proud of, is “helping to spur the importance of training and annual reviews to give employees a sense of accomplishment and a clear path for their career.”
Corey leads by example and says, “my main goal is to be a mentor to my coordinators in hope that they can achieve their career goals. I want to be known as a patient and knowledgeable trainer.”
Outside of work, Corey likes to vacation with his family, and enjoy the outdoors. He loves to camp, golf, run RC cars, play softball and shoot trap and target. Additionally, he’s an avid woodworker and DIY enthusiast.
